About WHIM-C

The Tingstad Wellness, Health, Independence and Mindfulness Center (Tingstad WHIMC) provides exceptional training, education, and life coaching for mature adults who are embracing a holistic approach to growing older.

We strive to implement evidence-based support and training programs that express the importance of self-care and mindfulness.

Research

Tingstad will leverage the research and clinical activities of the Secure Old Age lab and the Family Caregiver Support Center along with reaching out to faculty that have expertise in wellness, health, nutrition, and mindfulness. Tingstad will provide a community setting for testing interventions in labs such as the Longevity institute, Fall prevention programs, ADRC, etc.

Training

The New Tingstad Wellness, Health, Independence and Mindfulness Center (Tingstad WHIMC) is designed to provide internship and practicum experiences for LDS students in a multidisciplinary setting. including training opportunities for students in research, clinical, and gerontological internships.

The Tingstad WHIM-Center will research, develop and implement evidence-based support and training programs for the community surrounding USC and provide resources for community members who want to participate in training/educational wellness, nutrition, and life coaching programs.
